Double Mermet Beech Wood Pendulum

Constructed from beech wood, the Double Mermet pendulum is a variation on the original Mermet pendulum attributed to Abbe Mermet, who is said to be a leading proponent of modern radiesthesia or dowsing.

The hollow double ova shape enhances this pendulum’s receptivity. Place a small item (Witness) inside the Double Mermet’s chamber. The pendulum will resonate with the sample, enhancing the pendulum’s receptivity. This “tunes” the pendulums for specific dowsing assignments.

Father Abbe Mermet (1866 – 1937)

The Double Mermet Beech Wood pendulum is a variation on the famous Mermet pendulum.

Father Abbe Mermet, a priest from Switzerland, popularized the Mermet and Double Mermet pendulums.

Father Abbe Mermet a Swiss clergyman who invented the Mermet pendulum

Abbe Mermet wrote the seminal book Principles and Practice of Radiesthesia. This classic was first published in France fifty years ago and details the fruits of forty years’ research and application in radiesthesia or dowsing. The book shares his observations and comments on dowsing for water, mineral prospecting and diagnosing disease. Abbe Mermet gave advice on how to use a pendulum and aided in missing persons cases.

Abbe Mermet popularized the use of the witness chamber by drilling a hole inside the pendulum and placing herbs in the cavity.

He proved material placed inside the pendulum emits a vibration or radiation field, thereby increasing the pendulum’s sensitivity to other emanations in the environment both locally and at a distance.

Abbe Mermet also proved these “vibrations” could be transmitted to other people. The bulk of his work, written if French, is the framework of modern day’s European School of Dowsing.

Abbe Mermet’s novel ideas and research established dowsing or radiesthesia as a respectable science.
